Conservation et Développement Durable des Zones Humides Côtières à Haute Valeur Ecologique
Within the framework of the GEMWET project "Conservation and sustainable development of coastal wetlands with high ecological value: the case of Ghar El Melh, Tunisia": a regional initiative to support efforts for the rational and sustainable use of the Ghar El Melh lagoon complex for the benefit of Man and Nature, financed by the MAVA Foundation and implemented by a group of regional and national partners. The Association "Les Amis des Oiseaux" (AAO/BirdLife in Tunisia) has developed ecotourism tours focusing on the discovery of biodiversity, in particular birdwatching. These tours have been enriched with cultural, culinary and sporting activities (hiking and biking) to diversify the visitor experience and showcase the region's special features outside the summer season. These activities will help to enhance the value of the Ghar El Melh site and create new economic alternatives that can contribute to local development and biodiversity conservation. LAUNCH PROJECT
